It is time for the Feds to step in, just as they have done in other PB County Departments. PBSO has evolved to a FULLY CORRUPT DEPARTMENT. Even the "Good Guys" are afraid of retaliation. There is a culture of BULLYING that comes from the top. Bradshaw bullies our commissioners at every turn. He threatens them with "Crime Fear" whenever they try to manage any part of the County Police. Ask any attorney in the nation and they will say "stay away from PB County."
The PB Post has been the only light shed on public employees that are liers, cheaters, thieves, pornograhers, vilent criminals and shakedown artists that pass themselves off as police just because they put on the uniform. How many cops have been found guilty of crimes but ARE STILL ON THE FORCE. The culture of corruption will lead to a culture of fear FROM or police. Crime has not gone down although the budget keeps going up. FEAR will do that.

Hey - my bad. I read the initial post in a half-arse manner and didn't pay attention to the context. I still don't believe cops that can live to a higher standard should be cops but I see the point of the original post and I agree with it for the most part. I say "for the most" part because sometimes, like with PBSO, leaking the information to the media is the only way to get fair justice and get rid of the dirtbags. I do wholeheartedly disagree with the personal attacks though, which is why I delete most of the personal attacks on females and regular deputies.

To all members of the PD who read this blog: When did it become acceptable to commit cannibalism? The agency I came up in was a family. We looked out for each other and took care of each other. Yes, people did bad things and sometimes got caught. But, when that happened we still tried to help the person through the tough times. When the 'crime" was so bad that help was out of the question, we simply remained silent. What we did not do is call the media and dish dirt on one another. Now, the "new normal" is to alert the media and embark on smear campaigns. From the Detter story to the Pike/Clark story to the latest story about Maale, phone calls were made to the media and tips were passed along.

Do those that commit these "crimes" against your fellow officers hate your agency and your fellow brothers and sisters so much that you do not care that you are ruining the name of the place at which you work? Do you not understand that bad publicity leads to less citizen confidence? Do you not understand that when you bargain for raises and benefits it is the citizens that must have your back? They will not support an agency that has a tarnished reputation and those that dish dirt (often times based on rumors and false information) are committing the biggest sin. Think before you speak.
