GL Homes

It surprisingly (NOT) passed through the county commissioners to allow GL Homes not to build what they had promised originally. You see, GL Homes is one of the few builders developing in the Agricultural Reserve. They promised to build apartments adjacent to the canyons shopping area and at the delray marketpalce. This was the requirements at that time they had to follow to build their shopping centers. Now they come back and say this isnt feasible because no one would rent them. They also request they not reserve acreage in developments they are building, also in the Agricultural reserve, which was a requirement to remain green spaces. Funny how GL Homes hired former Commissioner Aaronson';s children in lucretive positions and they now get what they want. Funny how former Commissioner Aaronson's aide, Mary Lou Berger, is now the commissioner for that area and she is following in her daddy;s foot steps. Should we have thought anything different? Can you say corruption?

GL Homes is at it again. They just went to the County Commissioners asking to build more homes in their Canyon section off Lyons Rd south of Boynton Beach Blvd. They are saying there is no reason to build residences in the shopping center area as was originally agredd upon. They want to take those agreed upon homes and transfer them to this development, plus more homes. Talk about greed! GL Homes was just approved to build another development in the agricultural reserve off Lyons Road north of Clint Moore Rd in Boca. It is time to shut this developer down, but we know that will not happen.

Many years ago, the voters approved what would be known as the "Agricultural Reserve" area. This area, extending from the Florida Turnpike to the Everglades and from Clint Moore Road to Lantana Road would be "saved" from development and would remain agricultural, or farming area. Years later we see housing galore, commercial shopping centers...eveything but farming. The main builder in this area is GL Homes. If you dig deep into the archives you will discover none other than Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson's family heavily associated with GL Homes. Surprising as it may seem, Commissioner Aaronson persuaded GL Homes to hire several members of his family. Since this has occurred, GL Homes has seemed to get "sweetheart deals" from our County Commission. Burt Aaronson is crooked and should be investigated for corruption. It is time to clean up Palm Beach County. We know many County Commissioners who are corrupt, our State Attorney's Office reaks of corruption and our Sheriff's Office is laden with corruption. It is time the big guys from Washington DC made their way to our county and did some investigation.

It is amazing how rich Commissioner Aaronson has become over the years. Time to stop this non-sense. If Mary Lou Berger is elected, she will be just the mouth piece for Commissioner Aaronson, and the games will continue. Is this really what you want?
