This should make for a good chuckle. 9/29/09 - The fallout surrounding the tenure of former Brighton Fire Chief Marty DeLoach is continuing. On Thursday, former Brighton fire Sgt. Steve Moor filed a civil lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Detroit against DeLoach, the Brighton Area Fire Authority, its member municipalities and several members of the authority board. He claims his termination in March was in retaliation for openly supporting the of establishment of a union and open criticism of DeLoach for what he said was (quote) “the waste of taxpayers’ money and public safety concerns regarding departmental equipment and timeliness of emergency responses…”. Several high-ranking officers told WHMI they felt DeLoach had retaliated against Moor by removing the 23 year department veteran from his home station on Dorr Road and reassigning him downtown. The resulting dissension eventually led to the authority firing DeLoach on March 12th. Moor’s suit contends that the explicit reason for his dismissal less than three weeks later were comments he made to Fire Authority Chairman Gary McCririe, comments Moor’s suit says were made off-the-record to McCririe, who is also named in the lawsuit. The basis of those comments is not revealed in the court papers, and McCririe told WHMI that he will not comment on pending litigation per standard policy. Calls to Moor for comment were referred to his attorney Mackenzie Brown, who has yet to return several phone messages. The five-count lawsuit alleges Moor’s constitutional rights of free speech and due process were systematically violated and seeks damages in excess of $75,000. (JK)

This is great news! Finally all the posting we have been doing may be coming back to bite some people in the ass. Not only was Deloach "wasting the taxpayers money" in Brighton but he is certainly wasting the taxpayers money in Palm Beach Shores as well. Wonder if he is planning on doing the research for his court case in that new addition Cindy Lindskoog had added on for him or if he is planning on driving that new SUV the town bought him to Brighton for the Trial! Way to go again Lindskoog and Workman for hiring another bumbling idiot! Looks like not only does the Police Department not do appropriate background checks but neither did the mayor or Lindskoog..my guess..they probably had the Police Department do this guys background which is how this bozo got hired on as Fire Chief.

He doesn't even have an emergency vehicle, but PBS pays him to travel to atleast 3 meetings a month OUT of TOWN, all with FF with less then 12 months on duty. See Brighton, and did they call Allen Park NO, he has less then 8 years as an active FF. And he calls himself a Fire Marshall with 8 years experience. 8+ 8 +4 years as Chief = 20 and he failed the state boards 3 times in FL, go to myFlorida.com its all on record.

That's nothing Here's a link to an on going lawsuit in which Chief Daroach, took sick time in 2011 to attend the appeal of. It was the appeals trial for this case, where he stated he was immune to civil tort and civil conspiracy because he was a city official. Wrong >>> he's still on the hook becuase Michigan ruled that he was liable in a 2011 ruling ( which he took vacation to attend, saying to the Mayor he had to sell his house) which I will provide and will be dated, correlating to his "Vacation". very interesting reading esp. if I when I find the 2011 ruling which puts him on the hook for civil conspiracy. It;'s out there, I just need to find it in print so the knickle heads of PBS can't dispute it and Daroach can't lie about it. It's out there and I will find it. What a joke and PBS had no idea HA HA

Go Directly to the Michigan Court of appeals website. Or just google California Charleys v City of Allen Park and it will take you to the link. 3 of the cases are still open and have been consolidated, but I didn't find any activity on that website after June 2011, but the case is still open. Perhaps you can query from there to find the information you are looking for.

The taxpayers are being hoodwinked by the fire department and police department have you checked the calls for police services? and yet a small town like that needs 5 full time dispatchers not including part time dispatchers who take maybe 7 to 12 calls in a 24 period. You do the math. It's a great place alright especially if you work there and spend 6 or 7 hours of your 8 hour shift playing games on the computer or watching t.v. and you are making 50 grand plus a year doing it or should we say doing nothing! Where can I sign up for that job? The taxpayers have no idea how bamboozled they are between Marty McGruff and The Peyton Place Police it's a sad day for the citizens.

Why was he put on full time and now he's going part time after taking another part time job- ONLY after securing FRS. Seems a little strange that now that the Town is on the hook for his retirement he would go back to part time WITH retirement. Smells like a rat. Mcgruff where's the Michigan documents would love to see the ending to that lawsuit. Maybe his part time job will on a chain gang

When the dust settles, just remember, Ace Defective Sgt Kelley did the background check on DeRoach. The mayor, commissioners and especially Town Administrator Cindy Lindskoog were aware of the potential problems. They've been doing what ever they have felt like doing for ages and feel like they do not have to account to anyone. Does the Town deserve this. You better believe it. For only a few people have tried to tell others and do what is right, and have been ignored. Apathy runs rampant, and the clowns continue to think they rule. They only took a few years to turn the Town into the County joke..................Roscoe's buddy

Very True..unfortunately the good people trying to do something about whats going on have been the subject of ridicule, untrue rumors, damaged reputations and harassment, some where put through so much they were left no alternative but to move out of the "Best Little Town In Florida". If you point out a problem you are either crazy, a trouble maker, or a problem employee or have some other ax to grind, and Administration and members of the Departments do their best to make your life miserable and make it uncomfortable for you. Lets hope the few good people will actually start doing something about the BAD THINGS so that the town can once again be "The Best Little Town In Florida" instead of the most corrupt.

I am confused and once again "mums the word" at town hall. Supposedly theres a letter being sent out regarding the fire chief. Get ready for the "I'm sorry but"

They managed to fleece and flog the taxpayers at the same time! Great job Mayor and Cindy can't wait to see how you try to pull the wool over our eyes with this cluster!

It's funny to read these posts, Having worked with that scumbag Martin DeLoach in Michigan. I see he follows a pattern. It's a wonder no one has died due to his failed policies, and deviant ways of doing business. Both here in Allen Park and Brighton Michigan, neither Department is the same, as he killed morale in both.

As an outsider let's suppose the fire chief isn't a drinker it's still highly inappropriate to be driving a town issued vehicle and parking it at a bar. Obviously based on the prior post it does send out the wrong image when you see a town marked vehicle parked at a bar for a few hours. He should have taken a private vehicle.

How can he be dedicated to our fire department if he had a full time position elsewhere? Is the RW Group paying office space rent to the town for Marty to do their work in the office we tax payers are paying for?

What up with the "secret" meeting that going on July 12th as a "workshop" Hmmm I wonder if the public is invited or the Mayor will keep in a secret after Ms. Larcher EXPOSED the DaRoach for being a trickster and a FRAUD. Chief DeLoach has been elected to leadership positions in numerous Fire Chief Associations. He served as Chairman of the Downriver Fire Mutual Aid (Downriver, MI.), President of Southeast Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs, board member of the Michigan Association of Fire Chiefs and on the board of the Great Lakes Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He is currently serving on the board of the Palm Beach County Fire Chiefs Association as their Vice President. ***** THIS is from the PBS website. Funny it doesnt say anything about being kicked off the Southeast Mi Fire Chiefs Assoc. and refusing the give up his seat, How could he be a working paramedic when he got the cert as a Fire Chief. Would love to find out how many calls he ever ran as a Paramedic.? How did the town manager and the Mayor not know this? What about the charges in Michigan of conflict of interest involving his consulting and his position as Fire Chief? and now he is doing it again? Mayor Workman where are you? and why are you covering up fraud? Why didn't you answer Ms. Larcher? sounds like a letter might be sent to the Insp. Gen. office, ohh but under Mrs. Calloway"Tropepe" request were suing the agency that came about because 3 commissioner were ripping PBC off and atleast 1 was a business partner. Here is a transcription of an internal document from Brighton Michigan asking commissioner questions and pointing out facts about Marty's administration.
Raft officer classes are mandatory for all officers but the Chief and the Deputy Chief are not certified nor are they attending classes.
The Chief has missed several Officers meetings.
Why would the Chief purchase a $500. vacuum cleaner for St. 31?
Why does the Chief's wofe continously interrupt business meetings at the station?
Why did the Chief order the sprinklers to be turned off before the fire was out in Oak Point?
Why does the Chief not want emergency units to respond with lights and sirens?
Why is the Chief above in allotted mileage and why is he not paying for the difference?
Why does the Chief spend so much time outside the district, Assoc meetings, teaching and conferences. Is he just out for personal ambitions and on district time?
AND 57 more. Surely he hasn't changed his ways.

Do any of you posters want to identify yourselves?

If you are among the 20 or so current members of the department you should bring these questions up in a meeting. If you are among the 3 or 4 past members of the department who are unhappy with the direction the department took why don't you say so. And if you are just people who like to stir things up maybe you should find a more worthy subject.

That's the beauty of the first amendment freedom of speech we are free to identify ourselves or not identify ourselves and free to share our opinions just as you have the freedom to read and post so do we. Unfortunately many of us have been harassed by administration and members of the department which is why we chose to remain anonymous!
