This should make for a good chuckle. 9/29/09 - The fallout surrounding the tenure of former Brighton Fire Chief Marty DeLoach is continuing. On Thursday, former Brighton fire Sgt. Steve Moor filed a civil lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Detroit against DeLoach, the Brighton Area Fire Authority, its member municipalities and several members of the authority board. He claims his termination in March was in retaliation for openly supporting the of establishment of a union and open criticism of DeLoach for what he said was (quote) “the waste of taxpayers’ money and public safety concerns regarding departmental equipment and timeliness of emergency responses…”. Several high-ranking officers told WHMI they felt DeLoach had retaliated against Moor by removing the 23 year department veteran from his home station on Dorr Road and reassigning him downtown. The resulting dissension eventually led to the authority firing DeLoach on March 12th. Moor’s suit contends that the explicit reason for his dismissal less than three weeks later were comments he made to Fire Authority Chairman Gary McCririe, comments Moor’s suit says were made off-the-record to McCririe, who is also named in the lawsuit. The basis of those comments is not revealed in the court papers, and McCririe told WHMI that he will not comment on pending litigation per standard policy. Calls to Moor for comment were referred to his attorney Mackenzie Brown, who has yet to return several phone messages. The five-count lawsuit alleges Moor’s constitutional rights of free speech and due process were systematically violated and seeks damages in excess of $75,000. (JK)

This is great news! Finally all the posting we have been doing may be coming back to bite some people in the ass. Not only was Deloach "wasting the taxpayers money" in Brighton but he is certainly wasting the taxpayers money in Palm Beach Shores as well. Wonder if he is planning on doing the research for his court case in that new addition Cindy Lindskoog had added on for him or if he is planning on driving that new SUV the town bought him to Brighton for the Trial! Way to go again Lindskoog and Workman for hiring another bumbling idiot! Looks like not only does the Police Department not do appropriate background checks but neither did the mayor or Lindskoog..my guess..they probably had the Police Department do this guys background which is how this bozo got hired on as Fire Chief.
He doesn't even have an emergency vehicle, but PBS pays him to travel to atleast 3 meetings a month OUT of TOWN, all with FF with less then 12 months on duty. See Brighton, and did they call Allen Park NO, he has less then 8 years as an active FF. And he calls himself a Fire Marshall with 8 years experience. 8+ 8 +4 years as Chief = 20 and he failed the state boards 3 times in FL, go to myFlorida.com its all on record.
