I thought you guys were talking about a Fire Chief, not a Fire Chef. Sorry about that. Well a chef should know how to cook first of all. Then we all can decide what we want for dinner.
1. Its the Fleming Family Foundation 2. Im sure the person was referring to the past chief's ability to burn things(Captains Walk) or leave a charred meesed 3. I heard he and the fire department couldn't cook a piece of chicken at the last fundraiser, and they lost money, yes they lost money at a fundraiser. What the heck, he'll just ask the taxpayers for his short comings.Good riddens he was so rude

Maybe you guys could hire Chief Ron Beesley. I hear he may be looking for a job soon, and he can fix anything! Just ask him! He would bring a top notch group of kiss asses, I mean "Command Staff" with him. Wait, he probably doesn't meet your minimum hiring requirements....never mind.
What advice, if any, would you like to see from the fire chief replacement?
Any news on the status of Chief DeLoach? Is he gone? Is he now part-time? Has he been appointed as "interim" chief (this is one of this administration's favorite moves)? Is there an actual search going on for a new fire chief?

Like the move they used to appoint an interim Town Clerk that wasn't certified as a clerk?

Supoosedly, if you can trust anyone in Town Hall, on "oral board" will interview 4 candidates - oral board = Lindskank performing a magic trick with her cronies who are clueless in what it takes to be a fire chief neverless head a department - Lets hope they REALLY did background checks
PS I wonder if the candidates have heard of her 2 hour department meetings - where she praises herself until she is exhuasted.

Yes, it's very important that the top candidates pass a comprehensive background check, provide the required credentials and education . . . but, most of all, they must pass the town manager's "talk test".

Will somebody please tell me if we are still paying this moron, DeRoach, if there is any doubt who we're talking about. Wait a minute. we're the morons, after what he has done to this town and the fire department. Anybody want to buy an almost new GMC SUV. Does anybody in the best, scratch that, worst little town in Florida know how much this guy has cost us. Training, licenses and so on and so forth. We paid so this guy could get a better job on our dimes. Thank you very much Lindsboob, commissioners and mayor workman. How can we ever thank you. Oh wait, elections! Except for you Cindy, we'll figure that one out soon.

Does it matter - they'll bring in some sap and use him as a fall guy - so when they have to out source the fire to the RIV they will have some one to blame and they will have one more thing NOT to worry about - like the lifeguards and dispatch call us Suburban Riviera

Well, seems to me the only way we'll know who is on the fire chief hiring committee is for someone to go in and ask the question. It would also be helpful to see the questions and criteria that will be used during the interviews. All this assumes that proper background checks have already been done and verified, of course.

Are the candidates being considered "quality"? Who determines this - the same people who found Marty Deloach the best choice several years ago?

SPOILER ALERT!!!! The town that continues to provide humor. Comedy Central needs to hear about Palm Beach Shores. So in most towns in Florida, a board that was going to pick a new fire chief after a major disasterous pick, would probably have a couple of chiefs from neighboring towns sit on the panel. They would have an idea of what the job entails. But we're talking the Shores here. So first we have Cindy Linsboob, town manager/administrator, whose only experience with a fire was the time she wore corduroy slacks and caused a bush fire. She starred in the prequel, hiring Deroach. You have next a couple of newbies on the fire department who have only actually seen fires in training films. Some old guy who struggles to stay awake, and commissoner Deruil who is on the FD but not allowed near fires as his breath is usually an accelerant. Hey, what could go wrong? Speaking of Deroach, where is he? They had a fire call last weekend, and after the alarm went off, two oldtimers showed up. Stood around for awhile and finally went home. Fortunately, Riviera responded to the resort as our town couldn't. The chiefs SUV which is supposed to stay in the Town lot was in Deroaches drive way. So anybody going to tell us what the hell his status is. One of the old timers that did show isn't allowed to drive the equipment cause he drove over too many planters and took out too many mailboxes. Hey those trucks are big, you know! Supposedly, the PD is going to investigate why the FD didn't respond to the fire call. That's a good one. Now the PD will have to call someone in to teach them how to run an investigation. Is Riviera PD their backup too? Anybody know about this guy Thomas? Is on the fire board, and drives his POV to the fire station most weekends to use their stuff to wash his car, but can't answer or respond to fire calls. Well, it is a long trek from Lake Drive. Well, Cindy, we just can't wait for the suspense to end. You are responsible for many disasters in this town, your choice of Deroach being one of the highlights, we can't wait for your next screw up. Will you have help from ace defective Kelley on the background again? You know, ex mayor Chilcote must be spinning in his grave, a good ex mayor (Mills) burying his head in his hands wondering how it all went to hell so quickly, and a lot of residents asking how we ended up with a pathetic PD, FD and town administration.

So, the question is, why does Palm Beach Shores even need a full time fire chief? I thought the reason that Marty was made full time was cause he was going to take care of the inspections and continue serving as a p/t chief. Are we missing something here? Are fire inspections that difficult? Are these guys just now realizing this?? For sure someone needs to start asking the serious questions and now.

Why bother. You ask questions and no one answers. They have a perfect solution for the housing, but the children(Who the Town will have spent 3400 dollars to outfit and train- and then move on) want a house with a pool, so they can frolic around in. Who will pay for the liability expense and Insurance. A FT chief is needed to manage the 50 or so FFs, who will be continiously rotating through every year or so. Its such a joke, but its so real, it makes absolutley no sense to anyone but the Commission and the Town Manager. Do the math 3400 x 50 - every year or two WOW

Oct. 6th, 2012 181 Ocean The call was for an alarm in a unit. A guest had set off the smoke alarm NO certified members were available to get the engine out. Safety members responded to the scene. Riviera Beach was dispatched with a slight delay.
This is out of last months Comm. Fire Chiefs notes. 455,000 dollars and this is what the Town residents are paying for. Can't wait and see what we get for 500,000 dollars. Maybe they could burn a house down. Thank Bob Thomas, Joshua Wallace, Josh Simmonds, Marty Deloach, and our Town Manager Cindy Lindskoog next time u see them. Oh u won't see them so leave a message at the tone and I'm sure they'll get back to you.
PS if u read more of his diatribe . The Assocation spent 25,000 dollars on cribbing system for entrapment and MVA for all those High speed Motor vehicle accident that occur in Town

Just a thought........for the few people who actually care about the town and who actually take time to attend town meetings, why not elect or pick a spoke person, write down the issues raised on this site and demand real, repeat real answers from the commissioners and the alleged manager of this town. The meetings are supposed to be recorded aren't they. Oh and by the way, I believe residents are allowed to bring guests, so why not invite Mr Howard from the Palm Beach Post. He covers this area of the county. For laughs, invite Frank Cerabino too. Word is he follows this blog. They can't keep this buttoned up forever. See if Tropepe likes the negative press where her work is involved (Flooding in western county stories in the Post) ...........Roscoe's buddy
